Week Ending - June 15

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope you've had time to be creative this week!

I finished the crochet blocks for my Harvest Flower Blanket - I simply need to join them, then add borders. These blocks work up quickly and are very easy to crochet. I will be adding extra borders to make this blanket bigger. Our grandchildren fight for space under Nanna's blankets and generous is always best!

Let's see the inspiring projects I found for you this week, shall we:

  • Since we have to take our phones everywhere we go, how about crocheting this cute Free Crochet Smartphone Case from Crochet Bits. It's chic and practical and you could personalise it any way you like with applique, cute charms or line it with your favorite fabric. I personally recommend leaving your phone at home occasionally - there's freedom in being unavailable instantly and you're present with the people you're with. Great project for gifts as well.
  • The Brown Butter and Sugar Cheesecake from Delicious Australia has my mouth watering. The browned butter would add more depth of flavour and it looks light and fluffy. Anytime is a good time for cheesecake, right?

  • How gorgeous is this Tumbler Patchwork Quilt from Diary of a Quilter? This simple one block wedge design creates a quilt that looks more complex than traditional patchwork, yet clean and modern and a fun way to show off your scraps. Amy has put together a tutorial to make your own stunning scrappy quilt.
  • I adore the Primrose Wristlet pattern from Ellen Kantarellens. It's so elegant, yet subtle and those flowers are so sweet. This PDF pattern is available in her Etsy shop as an instant download, and I grabbed a copy because I think they'll make lovely gifts.

  • Love a layer cake pattern? Then you'll adore the Tiptoe Quilt Pattern from Rachelle Denneny. This uses one layer cake and some background fabric and finishes at around 68" square. It has the gorgeous vintage feel, and the geometrics create a wonderful circular shape. Stunning!
  • It's a cold and cosy Sunday, so tonight's dinner is the Chicken and Potato Pie from Gordan Ramsey. Perfect pastry, hearty ingredients and wonderful flavours have me wishing dinner time was already here. This one will bring some magic to our winter dining tonight.
  • I found another crochet pattern using Hue and Me Yarn and I just love it. It's the Make a Statement Scarf pattern from Woods and Wool and this scarf lives up to its name. It's huge, warm and snuggly and a great way to incorporate so many colours from this wonderful yarn range. This is a paid pattern, and you can find the link at the bottom of the post.

And that's it for another week! I hope these projects make those creative fingers itch!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
